A traditional oatmeal cookie but spices add extra flavor depth and dried apples are a nice touch!

Autumn Spice Cookies

INGREDIENTS

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Durkee® Ground Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Durkee® Ground Allspice
1/2 teaspoon Durkee® Ground Nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon Durkee® Ground Ginger
1/4 teaspoon Durkee® Ground Black Pepper
1/8  teaspoon Durkee® Ground Cloves
1  cup dark brown sugar
5 tablespoons butter OR margarine, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon Durkee® 100% Pure Vanilla Extract
2/3 cup quick oats (not instant)
1/2 cup chopped, dried apple slices
1/2 cup golden raisins

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Combine flour, baking soda, salt and spices in a bowl; mix well.  Beat brown sugar and butter in a large bowl with electric mixer until fluffy.  Add egg and vanilla.  Gradually beat in flour mixture.  Stir in oats, apples and raisins.

Drop 1 teaspoon sized cookie dough on greased baking sheets.  Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until cookie is set.  Let cool for 1 to 2 minutes on the baking sheets, then remove to wire rack.
