Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions, Italian herb seasoning and pepper. Cook and stir to caramelize onions for about 25 minutes.
Add wine, au jus mix, and water; increase heat to medium-high and cook for 5 minutes. Pour into individual soup crocks. Top each with baguette and 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese. Place under broiler to melt cheese; about 2 to 3 minutes. Serve immediately. ![]() |
