Baked Spaghetti

INGREDIENTS

12 ounces spaghetti
1 pound lean ground beef
1 package (2.52 ounces) precooked bacon, chopped
1 package DurkeeĀ® Traditional Spaghetti Sauce Mix
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
Optional: 1 can (2.25 ounce) sliced black olives, drained OR 1 can (4 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained OR 1 cup chopped bell peppes
8 ounces (2 cups) shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (10 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Spray 13 x 9-inch pan with cooking spray.

Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain.  Brown ground beef in a large skillet, breaking up large pieces, until cooked through.  Stir in bacon.  Add sauce mix, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and optional ingredient, if desired.  Mix well.  Simmer, uncovered, on low heat for 10 minutes.

Place half the spaghetti in prepared pan.  Top with half the meat sauce and half the cheese.  Repeat layers.  Combine mushroom soup and water; spread over casserole.  Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Bake, uncovered, for 30 to 35 minutes until bubbly around the edges and heated through.

Recipe tip:  10 slices cooked, crumbled bacon may be used in place of the pre-cooked bacon.
